Lady Katherine marries Sir Alex de Beaumont in a quickened marriage due to the Crusades, but when Sir Alex leaves her a note explaining he has left to fight for the King on her wedding night she vows never to forgive him. Word arrives that Alex has passed in the war, years later Lady Katherine is set to marry another. When Sir Alex unexpectedly shows up stopping the marriage, she is forced to face him again.
Alex had been imprisoned during those years Katherine had thought him dead, the only memory and hope he had during that time was to get back to Katherine and put the past behind them. Katherine is not so forgiving, but when they make a bargain that could leave her free to marry whom she wants she will have to search hard for what is in her heart.
Angela Johnson brilliantly takes the reader back in time with feisty Katherine and mysterious Alex. You immediately understand the hurt Katherine endured in the wake of Alex’s leaving, and as a reader hope he can prove his love to her. A merry ride indeed with Vow of Seduction.
Bobbie Luckman has left New Orleans and traveled into the Louisiana Bayou, where his clan has lived in secrecy. With the murder of her brother and her father, and an unknown force taking down her people; Bobbie knows it is time for her to assume her role as Queen Moran. Her arrival is not a triumphant return as evidenced by the fact that her childhood love, Kangee, is not really welcoming and a meddler is trying to take over. Bobbie is the last of the Morans and it is time for her return, especially with the presence of some who want her to fail. Her friends, Rhonda and Tabitha, accompany her on her journey, something that turns out to be crucial in the changes that will come. Now with all the forces in place according to the Prophesy of the Moon Revo Su, the big battle is coming but so too is a hurricane. With all these problems and obstacles, failure is not an option else an ancient curse will continue forever.
The plot for Fugue Macabre: Bone Dance was intriguing with its many elements and facets, including paranormal, early Bible, and a lesson on prejudice. The prophesy was a little complicated at times but did not detract from the story. Bobbie and Kangee had some hurt to work out and a clan to save. Non-stop action, many different paranormal animals, and a hurricane to add flavor makes C.J. Parker’s Fugue Macabre: Bone Dance an intriguing and exciting read.

Proof of Life, book 3 of the Super Agent series, was an intense ride that took me on some new spins and twists. I find it amazing that authors can come up with new ways for a familiar plot to play out. I felt that with this effort Ms. Evans, with the way she wove the subplots and family dynamics into the story really delivered on this. The subplots enrich the overall journey and we all know how hard it can be to do what is necessary when our family members are making poor choices.
I would recommend that the reader at least read book 1 of the series Operation Sheba, as it has important background information about Michael Stone and hostage issues he is dealing with in this story.
Enjoy
Sheriff Garrett Daniels is on his way to investigate the murder of a young woman when he runs into Cassie Archer standing by her broken down truck. Cassie is new to town after inheriting her grandmother’s place. Garrett is caught off guard when he realizes Cassie has several things in common with the murder victim.
Olivia Starke casts a tale of romance, ghosts, spells, and a mystery as well in Mind Games. A quick paced short story that peaks the reader’s interest from the first page. Cassie Archer is a head strong woman whose sarcastic side will bring a smile to your lips. I thought Mind Games was an enjoyable story that kept my interest throughout.
