Review: Knight Stalker by Linda Ciletti

"A handsome valiant knight, Michel, goes forward in time to follow and destroy Ruford, a terrible, evil warrior, but discovers true love. Can he keep her safe from Ruford, the evil one who is now hunting Rachael and Timothy, the very ones who Michel now loves, his reason for living, and staying in the future?"

Rachael is a divorced mother with a 5 year old son. Rachael is a professional flutist, and plays for her town’s  Symphony Orchestra.  Due to a sudden illness of the Flute soloist who was headlining in the upcoming concert performance, Rachael has been slotted into the soloist position which means many more hours of rehearsals which will keep her away from her precious son, Timmy. One blessing that Rachael has is that her landlord, Mrs. Evans, who is also their next door neighbor, gladly takes care of Timmy during the days and the late nights that Rachael has to stay for her rehearsals.

In fact, that very night Rachael’s rehearsal ran late, and with a terrible storm coming, she ended up having to walk the 15 blocks to her home where she knew that Timmy was already in bed. As lightning strikes  the ground around her,  and thunder boomed over her head, a man’s hand clamped on Rachael’s wrist. Rachel is then grabbed by a second man, and they drag her deeper into the shrubbery where they say they will be having “some fun” with her. Suddenly a brilliant horrific lightning strike hits nearby, and a man appears within the flashes of light. As Rachel’s attackers face the unknown threat, Rachael is able to break free, and manages to run home safely.

The man that Rachael saw standing in the lightning flashes was Michel, a brave and honorable knight who had come forward in time following an evil knight who had killed at least 9 women, one who was a favored niece of king Henry, the monarch whom Michel served. Michel saw, upon his arrival, two men holding a struggling woman. His arrival allowed the woman to break free, and as Michel watched, she ran and entered a dwelling down the street. As soon as Michel saw Rachel was safely away, he turned his formidable attention upon the evil men who had been attacking the lady.  After a brief confrontation leading to a cut thigh on one of the rapists, the men ran off hurling threats over their shoulders as they departed. Michel followed in the footsteps of the woman whom he had saved, and managed to gain admittance and shelter within her dwelling.

Will Michel be able to adapt to the future, and will he be able to destroy Ruford before he kills again, and again? Can Michel keep Rachael and Tim safe after Ruford discovers that Michel loves Rachael, and Tim? Ruford’s discovery causes him to turn his evil murderous intentions on the gentle woman, and her child. In a final confrontation with Ruford, he claimed to be sacrificing the women because they had sinned, and he was doing the killing for God as a sacrifice. Michel calmly states that Jesus was The Sacrifice, and that Ruford is killing for his own personal pleasure. Michel’s courage as he battles the evil man, and the dramatic conclusion will keep the readers holding their breath until the final very satisfying resolution.

Linda Ciletti is an author to keep an eye on for any of her releases because they are not to be missed. I adored this story, and it kept me glued to the pages as the adventure and danger increased to a breaking point where one will survive, and one must die. Ms. Ciletti is a talented author, with a skill to bring her characters to life, and to create people that the reader will truly care about. Her hero, Michel, is a rare treat as he copes with life in the future with several very humorous moments as he discovers the joys of today’s world, and learning to cope with the ladies in the 21st century!

Please read this story for a fabulous evening’s entertainment. Turn off the television(as I did) and lose yourself in the adventures of a lifetime as the past meets the present, and good overcomes evil. I loved the ending, and I would love to read further stories about this couple.(hint hint) Thank you, Ms. Ciletti, for the joy your story brings to the readers..
