Crazy in Love by Lani Diane Rich

"A big city girl running a rural inn makes for a quirky, funny and sexy story as only Lani Diane Rich can tell it. Be prepared to laugh out loud."

Welcome to the Goodhouse Arms, with its tranquil setting and relaxed atmosphere. Too bad there are bugs and other nature stuff to go along with the tranquility. Flynn Daly has been guilted by her family to take over running her Great Aunt Esther’s inn. She is a city girl and just isn’t cut out for the slow as a snail pace or the outdoors for that matter. She also isn’t prepared for a bartender cum investigator who claims her aunt was murdered.

Jake Tucker is a former cop who firmly believes Esther was killed by a potential buyer and that the buyer will stop at nothing until he gets the property for himself. Jake is attracted to Flynn but keeps his distance from “city girls”, especially ones who claim to see the ghost of their dead relatives. Not only is she weird but she also makes him think about her far too often.

It is a shame that no matter how hard they fight it, Jake and Flynn are destined to be together. Not only be together but to solve a murder in the process.

I have never been as thoroughly entertained as I was reading Crazy in Love. Screwball comedy reminiscent of Lucille Ball keeps the story lively and fast moving. I stayed up late into the night to find out what Great Aunt Esther would get up to next; matchmaking and amateur sleuthing lead to many a madcap adventure for Jake and Flynn. The interference of Jake and Flynn’s older sisters adds extra dynamic to the storyline, as they think they know what’s best for their younger siblings. The element of danger is an undercurrent that is never overlooked or overworked by the author. If you are looking to be completely entertained by a book, Crazy in Love is the book to choose.
