Review: Spinning Forward by Terri Dulong

Sydney Webster is shocked to find herself a widow at 52. She is even more shocked to find out her husband had a secret – compulsive gambling. Now, not only is she widowed but also homeless when that home is taken to pay off the debts. She moves to Cedar Key in Florida to be with her friend Allison and to try and put her life back together. She never dreamed she would be using her enjoyment of knitting and weaving to help rebuild her life. Opening a store and working again, trying to find new meanings for herself and her life, leads to so much more for Sydney including finding love and more than a few other surprises.

Spinning Forward is a tremendous book. Terri Dulong uses the charm of a small town, secrets from the past and true passion to spin a tale that will show the reader it is never to late to find not only your self but also love. Sydney has a lot of searching to do. She was fortunate enough to have a friend caring enough to give her that time and opportunity. Spinning Forward is populated by a wealth of characters that will work their way into your heart and your memory, lending a smile to your face. Spinning Forward is Terri Dulong’s first novel and one that will make us all sit up and take notice. We will all be anxiously awaiting her next.
