Review: Tomorrow’s Promises by Anna Jacobs
The Great War was Ellen Dawson’s only chance of escaping the stifling confines of her tiny Lancashire village of Shawcroft and her stepfather’s tyranny. Veronica may be subjected daily to all manner of degradations, but she refuses to marry a man she doesn’t love!
Ellen is shocked that her employer is treating her own daughter so cruelly, and she vows to get Veronica away from her deranged mother. Luckily for Ellen, she has just befriended the new local policeman, Seth Talbot, and she is sure that he will be able to help her.
