Review: Truly, Madly by Heather Webber

"A matchmaker gets dragged into solving a mysterious murder."

Family history says that Cupid has given the gift to see auras to the Valentine family. Lucy Valentine seems to be the black sheep of her family and when her father goes out of town for a week, leaving the family business in her hands, she wonders how she’ll ever possibly succeed without having her family’s paranormal abilities. All she can do is find lost items, and what good is that for a matchmaker?

When Lucy “sees” a dead body while trying to help a client, she immediately tries to find it and help solve the murder. With the help of the sexy private investigator just up the stairs from her, they immerse themselves in a world of murder and intrigue, all while fighting their growing feelings for one another.

When I first started reading this book, I couldn’t understand how this would evolve into a series. But, Heather Webber’s writing submersed me into the plot and had me falling in love with the quirky Lucy. The plot line is fresh, inventive and unconventional. When I finished it, I was sorry to see the book end, and am looking forward to reading more. It has all the earmarks of a wonderful paranormal romantic mystery series.
