Review: Sweet Talk by Susan Mallery
Susan Mallery is back with a new Seattle based series called the Bakery Sisters.
Meet Claire, Nicole and Jesse. Three sisters who co-own a famous bakery (the chocolate cake is to die for) but really want nothing to do with each other. Claire is a piano prodigy. Nicole raised Jesse. Jesse… well Jesse slept with Nicole’s husband.
Then enter Nicole’s best friend Wyatt. He wants to dislike Claire and believe all the things Nicole said about her. But dang if the woman just won’t give up. She’s back and she’s going to take care of her sister (post surgery) if it’s the last thing she does… well after she learns how to drive. And cook. And do laundry. But he’s starting to fall for her tenacity.
This isn’t just a romance. Let me go ahead and warn you. It’s a relationship book. It’s filled with real, true, heart broken characters. Sweet Talk sucks you into their world and into their lives. It’s that start of what I’m sure will be an incredible journey in these three women’s lives. It’s almost edgy. But it’s also romantic, daring, and hopeful.
While I’d say this is definitely a different direction than Mallery’s other works; Sweet Talk is definitely a winner.
