Review: A Rake’s Guide to Seduction by Caroline Linden

"Highly romantic with more than one lesson to be learned, A Rake's Guide to Seduction will work its way into your heart as you devour the pages of Caroline Linden's latest tale."

Celia Reece has known Anthony Hamilton since she was a child. Celia always felt alive when Anthony was around but her mother did not consider him to be a possible match for her. She thought she fell in love but the man she married did not turn out to be wonderful. Now she is widowed and a mere shadow of her former self. Anthony felt drawn to Celia and knew she was the only woman he could ever want. Seeing her so gloomy had Anthony using all his skills as a rake to bring her back to life and, hopefully, into his. Anthony had his work cut out for him as more than one person did not want them together.

Celia knew she made a bad choice with her first husband and was afraid to make another with Anthony. Anthony had done things in his past that had led, in part, to his reputation. While Celia’s mother decided another husband was just what she needed, Anthony would not be it. But Anthony knew he would do anything for Celia.

With A Rake’s Guide to Seduction, Caroline Linden illustrates the folly of listening to gossip while at the same time showing us how it affects the subject of that gossip. Both Anthony and Celia felt the effect but both dealt with it differently. Anthony was a true romantic at heart and knew just what to do for Celia. We could all use a man like Anthony in our lives. Wonderfully romantic with memorable characters and a favorite historical setting all add up to an excellent read. Caroline Linden’s A Rake’s Guide to Seduction is sure to be a pleaser.
