Review: That’s Amore by Wendy Markham

"What does a lonely engaged guy, a lovely psychic, and a ghost have in common? Why, Love, of course!"

In Rita award winning author Wendy Markham’s engaging story, That’s Amore, Daria, a disillusioned ghost seeing psychic , meets Ralphie, a tall, handsome man, and the lonely youngest son of a large Italian family. Ralphie has just been dumped on New Year’s Eve by his fiancee of 2 years, but instead of pain, he is feeling relief. Meeting Daria, who stops by the family restaurant business for a piece of pizza, Ralphie feels an immediate attraction for her. Daria, who has a new sad-eyed ghost following her around, is shocked when she realizes the ghost is the deceased father of Ralphie, for whom she is experiencing genuine romantic feelings, even though she is a girl who does not believe in forever.

Ralphie, an Information Technology specialist in New York City, is very close to his family, and they all adore him. Daria has no experience with normal family life, and she deeply desires to be part of a family like Ralphie’s. How these two people manage to overcome their own painful pasts, deal with the reality of the changes in their lives, and still find love is a wonderful story. This is a book that will stay in your memories long after you finish the last page. The story is difficult to put down, indeed, I stayed up until I finished due to the beauty of the people involved, the depth of the relationships within the family, and between the young lovers. I highly recommend Ms. Markham’s story, and I sincerely look forward to future books by this fabulous author. That’s Amore is a keeper for me, and a book that I will look forward to re-reading often.
