Review: THE KEY by Pauline Baird Jones
Sara Donovan is an Air Force pilot on a space mission to explore other galaxies. Her mother ship was engaged by hostile forces and during a dogfight, Sara had to crash land her fighter craft on a strange uninviting planet. There, she met Kiernan Fyn, a Gadi alien and Ojemba resistance member, also marooned on the planet. Their mutual attraction grows as they fend off unfriendly Dusan warriors and are finally rescued by Sara’s compatriots. Fyn is readily accepted by the humans after his exploits are made known.
Sara is drawn to a hidden city on the planet and discovers links to her mother and powers that she has long possessed. Sara also finds out that she holds the key to a secret left behind by her mother’s civilization. The warring Dusan and Gadi and even the secret Ojemba group are determined to have this key.
