Review: Just Say Yes by Phillipa Ashley

"Brimming with plenty of charm, verve and emotion, Just Say Yes is the latest irresistible romance from award-winning author Phillipa Ashley!"

Lucy Gibson never imagined that she would end up having the best sex of her life when she first went to order a sandwich at her local deli! Nick Laurentis was charismatic, charming and as sexy as sin. However, Nick had forgotten to mention to Lucy that he was taking part in a reality TV show that could propel him to international stardom – and turn Lucy into tabloid fodder. Although Lucy was prepared to support him, she certainly wasn’t ready for him to propose to her in front of ten million television viewers – nor was she prepared for the scorn or the vilification heaped upon her by the entire nation simply because she had refused Nick’s proposal!

With the whole of London baying for her blood, Lucy decides that she cannot stay in the capital for a moment longer, so she calls her best friend Fiona for help, who takes her down to her cottage in Cornwall, where Lucy hopes that she can lie low and lick her wounds until this whole debacle with Nick dies down.

Lucy might be surrounded by beautiful beaches, lush locations and bronzed bodies, but she’s getting increasingly restless spending every hour of the day cooped up in Fiona’s cottage reading gory crime thrillers. As if things weren’t bad enough already, Josh Standring, the gorgeous yet grumpy local entrepreneur, seems to be less than impressed with her; whilst his impossibly slim and terribly bitchy girlfriend Sara is convinced that she’s after Josh and has vowed to make Lucy’s stay in Cornwall a complete and utter hell!

Romance is definitely not on the agenda for Lucy, but the more time she spends with gorgeous Josh, the more she realizes that beneath that taciturn exterior lies a wounded soul scared of getting hurt once again. As the two get closer and closer, they realize that they’re falling head over heels in love with another, but can Josh ever learn to trust anyone ever again? Has Lucy finally found the man of her dreams? And is she prepared to leave London for good in order to stay in Cornwall with a man she cannot live without?

Written with plenty of style, confidence and enthusiasm, Just Say Yes is a superb romantic tale by one of romantic comedy’s most exciting new voices! Funny, tender, moving and romantic, Phillipa Ashley is destined for super stardom with her immensely readable and highly absorbing stories that never fail to raise a smile, tickle the funny bones and tug at the heartstrings!

Sharp, sexy and exuberant, contemporary romantic comedy has got a brand new queen with a bright future ahead of her: Phillipa Ashley!
