Review: The Cinderella Substitute by Nell Dixon

Jenni Blake has always been the dutiful personal assistant for Nate Mayer, over the past two years his dependence on her has strengthened since losing his fiancée in a horrible car crash.  Nate begins to see a different side to Jenni when she seeks out her birth mother, but Nate is not ready to let go of his pain  of losing his fiancée because he feels responsible.  Jenni is falling for her boss, but his mixed signals has her questioning if he can ever move forward or will continue to live in the past.

Captivating story, I thought that both characters were both vulnerable and they felt incredibly real while reading the story.  The story took time to cultivate the dynamic between Jenni and Nate and it had a almost courting  quality to it, even though for every step forward Nate took two steps back.  Entertaining read.
