A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Tiffany Snow earned degrees in Education and History from the University of Missouri-Columbia, before launching a career in Information Technology. After over a decade in IT, she switched careers to what she always dreamed of doing – writing. Tiffany is the author of romantic suspense novels such as the Kathleen Turner Series, which includes No Turning Back, Turn to Me and Turning Point. Since she’s drawn to character-driven books herself, that’s what she loves to write, and the guy always gets his girl. She feeds her love of books with avid reading, yet she manages to spare time and considerable affection for trivia, eighties hair bands, the St. Louis Cardinals, and Elvis. She and her husband have two daughters and one dog.

THE EARL DOTH PROTEST . . .
For businessman Heath Hextall, inheriting an earldom has been a damnable nuisance. The answer: find a well-bred, biddable woman to keep his life in order and observe the required social niceties. But it’s always been clear that Lady Josephine Somerhall is not that woman. Once a shy slip of a girl, Joss is now brilliant, beautiful chaos in a ball gown.
In her heart, Joss has always loved Heath, the one person she’s always been able to count on. That doesn’t mean she wants to marry him though. Without a husband, Joss can do as she pleases-and now, it pleases her to solve the mystery of an encoded file given to Heath by a dying man. It’s put Heath in peril once, and Joss won’t let that happen again. She’ll do what she must to ensure the earl’s safety. And to remind him that what she lacks in convention, she makes up for in passion.

Kelly Bowen grew up in Manitoba, Canada. She attended the University of Manitoba and earned a Master of Science degree in veterinary physiology and endocrinology. But it was Kelly’s infatuation with history and a weakness for a good love story that led her down the path of historical romance. When she is not writing, she seizes every opportunity to explore ruins and battlefields. Currently, Kelly lives in Winnipeg with her husband and two boys, all of whom are wonderfully patient with the writing process. Except, that is, when they need a goalie for street hockey.

V. K. Sykes is a wife/husband writing team -Vanessa Kelly and Randall Sykes – who write romantic suspense and single-title contemporary romance. One of the great things they appreciate about being writers is that they can work anywhere so Vanessa and Randy split their time between Ontario, Canada, in the summer and Florida in the winter. Both locations have shores just as beautiful as the imaginary Seashell Bay.
JUST A SUMMER FLING?
Morgan Merrifield sacrificed her teaching career to try to save her family’s bed-and-breakfast and care for her younger sister. She can’t let herself get distracted by Ryan Butler. After all, the rugged ex-Special Forces soldier is only in Seashell Bay for the summer. But her longtime crush soon flares into real desire-and with one irresistible kiss, she’s swept away.

Review and GiveAway : Summer at the Shore (Seashell Bay) by V. K. Sykes

Sometimes plans change for a wide variety of reasons, yet what path a person ultimately decides to follow can vastly affect their future. Two people find life tossing unexpected challenges their way, and whether they listen to the deductions of their minds or what their heart is telling them may determine if they are ever truly happy. V. K. Sykes has constructed an extremely realistic setting for the Seashell Bay series, where folks are true-to-life and the locale is vividly described. Residents show their concern for others in positive ways, and their lively personalities come across as someone you would want to meet. The more I read about Seashell Bay Island, the more I wanted to be able to actually visit this charming place with a relaxing atmosphere. The good feeling derived from reading SUMMER AT THE SHORE will linger for a very long time.
After serving his country, Ryan Butler began a career where he was paid to protect others in often dangerous situations. Taking a break from his stressful job working for a military contractor, he has come home to visit his parents who still live on Seashell Bay Island, Maine, a place he has not regretted leaving. On the ferry going to the island, Ryan meets up with Morgan Merrifield. The two have known each other since they were small kids, and they sit together to talk about any recent happenings. One big event in her life was that her father passed away, and she had to give up teaching in order to help her sister keep the bed and breakfast inn he owned from going under. With little money coming in, Morgan has to work hard to keep the business from closing.
When Ryan made the choice to come home, his plans were flexible, yet he still was not going to spend a long time in the town where he grew up. But after he talks with Morgan, she comes up with a proposal which will help both of them. Letting him stay at the inn and do some needed repairs will definitely aid her, while he gets a room for free. Yet seeing each other for hours at a time ends up making their unspoken attraction go from smoldering to combustible in a matter of days.
In the first book of the Seashell Bay series, there was a huge disagreement amongst many of the townsfolk. Since a satisfactory resolution was found, everyone seems to be getting along once more. But that does not keep individuals who live in the area from experiencing their own personal problems. Morgan has one dilemma after another cropping up, and the arrival of Ryan is both a blessing and a difficulty. His offer to help around the inn could not come at a better time, but being near him only makes her wish for things she fears will never come true. She has secretly adored the man for years, but knew his restless nature would not let him settle down in her quiet hometown. But it is hard not to fantasize about the enticing man when his compassionate deeds constantly let her see another side of him.
How Morgan and Ryan react to one another is always with genuine responses, and I could absolutely see two people interrelating as they did on a number of occasions. Regardless of how they communicated with words or actions, each episode depicted what real people would do in such circumstances. V. K. Sykes makes every scene believable with a candidness that will cause much empathy from the reader. I felt the anguish of this couple when things seemed hopeless, and their joy was off the charts if an event caused happiness. Their sexual compatibility led to lots of steamy encounters, and playfulness added to their intimacy. Devotion to others is a big part of what I liked about this couple, and they proved this trait over and over again. There is also much humor in the story, as several of the residents always had something snarky to say. And with a town full of diverse citizens, something amusing was often going on. I cannot wait to revisit with all the likable characters in Seashell Bay Island. SUMMER AT THE SHORE brings realism to every delightful situation.
