The Write Ingredients: Recipes from Your Favorite Authors, is a work of love by Lori Foster, Dianne Castell, and the Lori Foster Bookjunkies, to raise money to send care packages to our beloved troops overseas. The “Troop Project” is kept going by generous donations, and aided by the skills of Laurie Damron, they purchase and ship overseas fun, heartwarming surprises, and many _necessary _items_ that are impossible for our troops to purchase locally. Lori’s idea of producing a cookbook, compiled with 90 authors’, and a handful of dedicated reader’s, favorite recipes, is inspired, and is a wonderful way of bringing many different cuisines, and family favorite recipes together in one book that is a perfect kitchen companion for cooks of all skill levels.
I  started collecting recipes when I was 8 years old, and I have never stopped searching, collecting, and experimenting with new recipes. I proudly own several hundred cookbooks, and due to experience I can now recognize excellent recipes when I read them. I was in heaven when I opened this recipe collection because I realized that I held a treasure chest full of family favorite dishes, from many nations, and regions of the world, primarily American, but still reflecting the many different regional  flavors to be found in the United States, with an abundance of vegetarian selections with low fat and low sodium options, so with joy in my heart I started preparing different recipes.
Hot Cheese Dip (with a fabulous twist I have never seen)
I large block Velveeta (2 pound size)
2 cans Rotel Tomatoes (these now come with different levels of heat, and now offer Habanero peppers as a selection. I highly recommend using the original Rotel unless you are familiar with the other options.)
1 pound Italian sausage, cooked, well drained (I squeeze my cooked sausage between paper, or cloth towels)
Place cheese, cooked drained sausage, and Rotel tomatoes in a crock pot for several hours on low, stirring every hour or so while  checking that the cheese is not burning. Once combined and hot, remove from pot, and serve warm. You can jump start this dish by starting to melt the cheese in your microwave on Low heat, stirring frequently until softened to your desires.
I am thrilled to find this new twist to the  Rotel Cheese Dip!
I adored the Southern Cheese Sausage Biscuits: Simple, easy, just combine Bisquick( I use Pioneer, it is so much better than Bisquick, IMHO) with other simple easy ingredients, and voila! Fabulous sausage cheese biscuits.
I highly recommend this recipe collection. There are recipes that range from very simple, to perhaps a little more complex, but nothing that a romance reader cannot handle! If you ever have any questions, just email me, and I will be happy to be of assistance.
This is a perfect gift to buy for your friends, your family, and  yourself. This is a fabulous collection, and I am so thrilled to own it. Thank you , Ms. Foster, for putting this together, and for all that you and your group are doing for our men and women in uniform who are so far away from family and friends.
