A Christmas Spirit of Forgiveness
Carolynn Carey: http://www.carolynncarey.com/
Anna and the Earl are directed out into the snow by a mystical, legendary lady who sure seems real at the time! She is an impoverished lady who avoids the city and her snobby relatives who rejected her as a child. She has been doing all the duties in the country estate of the absent Earl as he has cavorts in London. Although they are attracted to each other it seems they have little in common. That might change as they cope with being marooned by a very odd snow storm that forces them to look beyond themselves! I enjoyed this charming story with nice characters and a good plot which leads to forgiveness and joy! Simply lovely! 4.5
Dreams of Christmas
Barbara Miller:Â http://fallsbend.net/
Sarah is a brave young woman who sets out, even in a threatening snow storm, to find her missing twin sister. Lord Vance has been drawn to the same inn and is stunned to see Sarah and recognize her as the girl from his dreams! He wants to convince her to become his but first he must help her safely complete her mission to find her sister. This story has some dreamy aspects that bring this couple together. Nicely done. 4.25
Bride of Belznickel
Kate Dolan: http://www.katedolan.com/
Hannah Brown is a smart young lady who is more interested in reading and learning than fashion. She is ridiculed by her not so pleasant cousins who are more than willing to make her look foolish to try to make themselves look better in front of the eldest’s fiancé and his brother, Philip. Hannah tries to get a bit of revenge by telling a version of a ghost story about Belznickel, the Christmas demon and how he chooses a bride. Things get out of hand when the details of her imagined story start to come true! When Hannah is blamed, Phillip steps in to help and gives her some Christmas hope in spite of the unexplained tricks. An interesting story that might have been even better if expanded. 4.0
Jenna’s Eternal Lover
Jeanne Savery:Â http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/s/jeanne-savery/
This was a light sweet story about some family match making done by a ghostly Lord and the Lady he has left behind. She is eager and ready to go to be with him now that they have managed to settle the family and a few friends with their own lovers. The family doesn’t want to let her go but they are able to realize Christmas is a special time for lovers – even those who have passed on. 4.25
Miss Isabella Thaws a Frosty Lord
Larissa Lyons: http://www.larissalyons.com
I loved this delightful story: the sweet plot, the charming style and the wonderful characters! Miss Isabella lost her site as a child. Her father has kept her under his thumb ever since. Isabella arranges to escape for an adventure at Christmas, a holiday she loves! At a Christmas ball with her good friend she refuses a demand to dance from Lord Frostwood, sometimes called “Frigid Frost†for his aloof, alone and cold demeanor. He hates the Christmas holiday. He doesn’t know at first that she is blind but he is captivated by her spirit. Isabella does thaw the Frosty Lord with witty dialogue, warm touches, stolen kisses, and a little help from her angel of a mother! I want to read more from this author for sure! 5.0
