REVIEW: JUST LOOK AT ME NOW – NELL DIXON

Tia Carpenter’s life seems absolutely perfect: she’s got great friends, a fabulous job as a beauty editor on one of the country’s leading fashion magazines and a figure to die for. But Tia’s life hasn’t always been so enviable. As a teenager, Tia had incurred plenty of scorn and humiliation at the hands of her school mates who had lost no time in criticizing and belittling her and making fun of her weight and her social background. But on leaving school, Tia had been determined to leave that life behind. She had grown tired of being a victim, so she’d changed her name, lost weight and moved away from her home town and transformed herself into a beautiful and successful woman. Tia is determined to keep her past buried, but she soon realizes that secrets have got a nasty habit of coming back to haunt you when you least expect them to…

When she was still a schoolgirl, Tia’s arch nemesis, Juliet Gold, had loved nothing more than making her life hell and Tia had hoped to never clap eyes on the nasty bully who had humiliated her on a daily basis ever again. So, Tia is shocked when Juliet waltzes into the office of Platinum magazine as the latest fashion editor. Tia is incensed, furious and terrified that Juliet will blow her cover and tell everyone that slim, sexy and gorgeous Tia was in fact a chubby, insecure and lumbering teenager the whole school used to call Big Barb, tub of lard.

Tia is determined to stay as far away from Juliet as possible. Although she’s changed her name and improved her looks, Tia knows that her life wouldn’t be worth living if Juliet spills the beans and reveals the truth about her past, so she plans to give her a very wide berth. But fate seems to be conspiring against Tia…

Not only has Tia got to work closely with Juliet, but she’s always captured the attention of Josh Banks, a man Juliet has got firmly in her sights!

Will Juliet ever get what’s coming to her? And will Tia and Josh allow their insecurities and fears to destroy their last chance at happiness?
