Daphanie Carter can’t believe the things she has learned in the past few days. While she is delighted that her sister found the one for her, she is amazed to learn there is a whole world populated with The Others, something about which she is exceedingly curious. So when an imp invites her to visit a non-human nightclub, she jumps at the chance to learn more about The Others. Unfortunately it does not take long for Daphanie to learn that there are jerks among The Others as well as among humans and she gets into an altercations with an evil witch doctor.
As a Guardian, Asher Grayson does not get a lot of time off. He finds himself at a nightclub for a little break when he notices the human and the witch doctor. A Guardian’s job is to protect humans from The Others and so he steps in when the argument deteriorates. She finds himself promising her protection. The only problem – Daphanie refuses his protection. Asher will not accept that and she gets protector, whether she wants one or not.  It does not take long before it is obvious she needs his help and protection but who will protect Asher from Daphanie’s allure?
Daphanie was a disaster waiting to happen. A modern woman, she was not going to let anyone walk on her or treat her as an inferior. Unfortunately she was dealing with The Other. Asher was a man more than capable of protecting her, but even Daphanie had a few tricks to surprise him. The plot was exciting and unfolded perfectly as we followed along with Daphanie and Asher and their friends, taking us places we least expected. Black Magic Woman will capture your senses and ensnare your imagination. Another great novel from Christine Warren.
