Amy Stokes needs a man, not just any man either, a special one with the right genes for her child, well the one she wants anyway. Amy made her fortune in making baby products and she can afford anything she wants but with her 39th birthday making an appearance she decides that she needs to find a man, the perfect man to be the father to her child. But what she thought would be an easy task is turning into a major issue when all the men she chooses fail in some way. Having given herself a year to get the deed done she is racing against the clock to find a suitable father and it doesn’t seem like her “man of the month” club candidates will do the job. But Amy thinks she may have found the right guy for the task, that’s if fate doesn’t decide to lend a hand and throw a spanner in the works.
Sarcastic, witty and downright hilarious are but a few words to describe Man of the Month Club by Jackie Clune and I have to say I’ve never enjoyed a book more. I loved the cynical opinions given by all of the characters in this book, especially Amy and her best friends, and this book was written in such a way as to explain each and every character and I really connected with it, the attention to detail may have seemed over the top but it helped to understand each person and their role in the story. All of the characters had diverse characteristics and it made the book flow from start to finish but I have to say that favorites were Joe’s two girls, their personalities shone through and I couldn’t help but chuckle over their antics. Man of the Month Club will leave the reader laughing while enjoying the sharp wit and sarcastic humor rife throughout this novel.
