REVIEW: BIG GIRLS DON’T CRY BY SUE SWIFT

Linda Travers has worked hard to make a life for herself and her six year old son.  She lives and works in a small town, Renegade Ridge, as its only physical therapist.  She is due to have a new patient come in today and she is surprised to realize that  it is Dave Madsen, the man who loved her and left her in college.  He is also the father of her son, Mac.

Dave remembers Renegade Ridge fondly and it is to here that he wants to return and recuperate from what may be a career ending injury.  He remembers Linda as the woman who left him without a word.  Linda knows she must share Mac with Dave, but is finding it hard to move beyond the hurt and the anger she felt when he left her alone and pregnant.  Now the two are trying to work out a relationship, but Linda is not sure she can trust him to stay around.  Will she and her son Mac survive the pain if he leaves them behind again?

Linda was so used to doing for herself and for Mac that letting Dave in proved to be difficult.  It brought out her insecurities and, at one point, threatened her livelihood.  Dave was honorable and tried to make amends and could not understand why she was not more willing to allow him in.  The two had a lot to work out and the path was not an easy one with both having to face and overcome their past.  How does it all end?  You will need to pick up Big Girl
