Lucky Cavanaugh did not realize volunteering for a simple back up job would land him in so much trouble. Now on the run in West Virginia mountains in a snow storm and after being shot, Lucky finds he must force Wildlife Biologist Vinnie Ryan to help him, at least until he can convince her he is one of the good guys. Lucky, an ATF demolitions expert and a city guy, has no idea how to survive in the woods during a massive snow storm. He knows he must find help soon as he now realizes he has found a massive terrorist plot about to go. Vinnie wanted nothing to do with this man who stirs her feelings so much after her own losses but she can’t resist this man and finds herself healing both his seen and unseen wounds.
This is the second book in this series and I know I am going looking for the first. Lost in the Shadows is action packed, suspenseful and leaves out on the cliff both literally and figuratively at times. Lucky had been badly injured and still had a lot of healing to do and now he is injured again. Vinnie also had her own pain to deal with and together they made a great team for the world, for the country and for each other. Lost in the Shadows in not a book to miss if you enjoy tension, realistic, scary and plausible plots, fantastic characters and more than a few surprises. C.J. Lyons will have us anxiously awaiting the next in her series all while looking for the first. Try Lost in Shadows, you’ll be glad you did.
